  1. Thank you Kim! This is being a long wait and for me is until tomorrow, but i’m sure it will be great. With honour, grace, respect for this part of History and the people that lived, suffered from this event.

  2. Why do I have a bad feeling I am gonna need a really, really big box of Kleenex during this episode.

13 hours and 33 minutes… no I am not counting down either 😉

    • thanks for the link Karin. It’s an amazing piece of history, and i think there are a lot of people that are going to learn about internment camps for the first time with this episode.

      • Yep, very dark chapter of our history, too. We learned a lot about it in school.

There are a lot people writing previews for this particular episode, not only Mr. Asakawa. Most of them very positive, not to say enthusiastic. Hard piece of work for a translator to choose from the pool of articles, because you can’t do everything before the episode airs. 😀 The advantage is, you have to read them all before you could choose, and in this particular case it is very interesting and informative.

        • You learned about it in school? For the life of me I don’t remember learning about it. I know about it because NotMcG is a big history buff and we watch anything/everything about WW2

          • Of course. WW2 is a very big but also a very dark chapter in German history. That’s what I meant saying “our history” according to internment camps. Reminds me of the concentration camps and extermination camps we had in Germany at that time. We learned a lot in school about it. But I didn’t know anything about internment camps to incarcerate Japanese Americans in the US after Pearl Harbor until this H50 episode.

            • *embarrassed* – oops, forgot that you were from Germany!

Admittedly, as a high schooler, I wasn’t into history – I was much more interested in science and math. NotMcG assures me that we DID learn about it (we went to the same school) so, I probably just didn’t retain it.

  3. well, I ‘m happily counting, for me they are 7 hours and 43 minutes…… proudly Mcpervfan till my bones ;)…..S T E V E N, missed you so badly!!!!
